Lil Kesh, Here Are 10 Music Stars Stagnated After Leaving Their First Label

One has to hail Lil Kesh’s boldness and willingness to be his own boss after he opted not to renew with mercurial hit making label YBNL.
While his boldness is something every young artiste should get inspiration from, the sad part is the odds are firmly against Lil Kesh. His chances of succeeding on his own is very low judging by how other artistes that took his route have fared.

Let See

1. Wande Coal
Wande Coallike Lil Kesh decided not to renew affairs with Mo’Hits/Mavin Records after his time elapsed. He went on to create his own label called Black Diamond Entertainment.
His career ever since that time has stagnated despite the singer working overtime to return himself to the top of Nigerian music food chain.
Wande Coaldid well to retain Bankuli as his manager, unfortunately for him, nothing was the same.
2. Jesse Jagz
Jesse Jagz had no choice but to return to Chocolate City Music after seeing the grass is not always greener on the other side.
Jesse famously abandoned Chocolate City to found his own outfit Jagz Nation.
The quality of Jesse Jagz music didn’t drop while solo but he couldn’t monetize as much. The brains behind him weren’t the same anymore.
Unfortunately for him, his brothers Ice Prince and M.I have left him behind when he rejoined. Jesse now feels like an upcoming artiste

3.Burna Boy
The biggest deal about Burna Boy’s music career is the fact that he can’t travel overseas because of the ban imposed on him when he was 19 years old.
Despite that, Aristokrat Records made success of him. Burna Boy didn’t repay that faith, he left the label out in the cold. By doing so, Burna Boyalso left behind the spanner behind his work, LeriQ.
The singer has been solo ever since but he hasn’t reached the height he was destined to reach. It is fair to say the sky was Burna’s limit when with AR.
4.Brymo
Brymo is about to release the third album since leaving Choc City, the fifth of his career but what has he achieved during that time?
The jury is still out on whether Brymo can achieve some level of main stream success.
Look out for Brymo’s fifth studio album, Klitoris.
5.May D
May D has gone from a man that starred in a song that contained P-Square and Akon to one that can’t headline a major show.
The singer cut ties with Square Records and also with Jude Okoye as his manager.
May D is now more known for his low budget videos than his hit records.
6.D’banj
D’Banj has been on a journey for self discovery since he split with Don Jazzy.
His struggles to retain his status has been well documented on blogs worldwide.
Thankfully, D’Banj is headlining show these days after struggling for almost half a decade
7.Jaywon
Jaywon, another highly talented man left Kennis Music and we have barely heard anything from him ever since.
Make no mistake, Jaywon has already released an album this year. His album cover is one the worst we have seen in recent time.
If Jaywon had released his project under Kennis or a well funded label, his album would have done way better.

8. Mo’Cheddah
Mo’Cheddah is now more known for her fashion statements over her music.
Mo’ took a long hiatus from music after quitting Knighthouse. She returned under her own label Cheddah Music.
While her music has been okay, her career is not what he was back then when she won a MAMA Award.
9. Vector
Vector left YSG hoping the grass will be greener on the other side. Maybe it has been for him a little bit.
But Vector still hasn’t released an album since he left YSG.
With new school rappers such as Ycee, Dremo hitting the boot hard, it is now or never for Vector.
10. Sauce Kid (Sinzu)
Sauce Kid(at that time) left Storm Records to do his own thing after releasing an impressive album, African American.
The rapper then relocated back to the United States to found his own label SMG, SinzuMusic Group. Fastforward, Sinzu’s music has changed, he does trap music now and Nigerian audience can’t even relate to his sounds.
Sauce Kid released a project last year, none of the singles on the EP charted.
