Abuja Court Sacks PDP’s Ali Modu Sheriff

A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has sacked Ali Modu Sheriff from his position as National Chairman of the PDP after nullifying the 2014 PDP Constitutional Amendment on which basis Sheriff was appointed PDP Chairman.

Justice Valentine Ashi, who presided over the case described the amendment as illegal and a violation of the Electoral Act and declared all action carried out with it including anybody parading as officer of the PDP as illegal

Wednesday’s judgment is the latest dimension in the leadership tussle that is threatening to divide the People Democratic Party. The ‘Caretaker’ chairman of the Party, Ahmed Makarfi has said that Modu Sheriff is trying to bring the party to ruin.
