Nigeria: Zamfara Communities to Get 2.6 Million Treated Nets
Gusau — The Malaria Action Program for States MAPS has concluded arrangements to distribute a total of 2.6 million mosquito nets to communities in Zamfara State.
This was made known in Gusau by an official of MAPS, Dr. Abdul Musa, who represented the organization's country representative at a sensitization programme. He said his organization chose the month of August for distribution of the nets, as mosquitoes breed more during that period as a result of rainfall. He appealed to stakeholders in the state to support the programme.
While receiving the team, Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Information, Alhaji Muhammad Bello and his Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart, Alhaji Yahuza Gebe, assured of the state government's support, noting that the exercise is for the wellbeing of the people.
Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Information also directed that jingles be aired on radio to create awareness on the programme.
