UNILORIN GRADUATES 31 MEDICAL STUDENT
Ilorin - Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin has advised doctors against embarking on the proposed nationwide strike.
Ambali made the appeal on Wednesday in Ilorin during the Professional Initiation and Admission Ceremony for 31 Batch B Medical Students who graduated from the university.
The VC, who was represented at the event by Professor Sidikat Ijaiya, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics said that as custodian of life, doctors had the duty to preserve life anf going on strike was contrary to what they stood for.
According to him, the medical profession was noble and divine and the success witnessed at the event was as a result of students being fortunate and hard working.
"The micro world of the university is different from the macro world out there and this necessitate us to brazen up to the challenges in the world," he said.
Professor AbdulWahab Johnson, the Provost, College of Health Sciences of the University, who congratulated the inductees, urged them to be good ambassadors of the institution.
He said that the College of Health Sciences of the University was among the reputed medical schools in the country.
Dr Abdulmumin Ibrahim, Registrar at the the Medical and Dental Services of Nigeria advised the graduates to always make documentation of their work and regularly check on their patients.
